Cloud 9 performance video still
"What have you done for money?" was the call Durbin sent out to women artists across the United States, who then sent her their stories.
Commissioned by arts platform New Hive, and live streamed on both New Hive and the cam site Cam4 simultaneously, Durbin's Cloud 9 (2015; performance; 2 hrs run time) explores the ways in which late capitalism harms women artists, and how we seek and fail to connect honestly through digital platforms.
Cloud 9 was also shown as a part of the Women and Money Project at the Katherine Nash Gallery at the University of Minnesota (2016), curated by Ellen Shillace.
